Golf courses at The Inn at Mid Pines
Designed in 1921 by the famous architect Donald Ross, the layout remains in its original shape to this day. Visually stunning, each hole is carefully crafted into the natural rolling landscape and winds its way through the huge pine trees that dominate the land. Initially, the course was designed for friendly competition among members and guests of the club, however, in recent times it has hosted national competitions challenging some of the best in the game and creating huge acclaim among avid golfers.
Just across the road from the Mid Pines Inn is the sister property Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club. The Pine Needles course, also a Donald Ross-design is the first course in the country to host four U.S. Women’s Opens. Ross created the course in 1927, with Kyle Franz making some advancements in 2007. Franz added some length while keeping the overall feel in line with the original Ross design. Rolling hills, strategic fairway bunkering and huge pines define the course. Voted by Golfweek as the #4 course in the state it is truly a ‘must-play’.
